Completely Stopped.

After I submitted my work to the Brand show, it was the last bit of creative work that I did until July of 2007.  My new job that I had started in October of 2006, brought forth new challenges as well as new problems.  I was working hard to learn a new product and a new industry.  I had switched from the buying end of things back to the manufacturing side and my hours and stress level increased considerably while my ability to create things was reduced to zero.  I just didn't have the energy to think much less create when I arrived home at 9.30 at night.

It was a very hard adjustment, and the long hours that I thought would calm down after our busy time, never did.  After two business trips, one to New York, and one to China,  I realized that I needed to do something quickly to regain the balance back in my life.

In order to jump start my creativity again,  I signed up for a watercolor workshop.  I had been struggling with watercolors for years and it was definitely time for professional help.  It was a three day workshop and it felt like mini vacation.   I studied with local Petaluma artist, Susan Adams (see reference section)  and got a lot out of the experience.  In addition to being a talented artist, Susan was an excellent teacher.  It was just what I needed.
