Rorshach?
About 2 years later, I decided that I wanted to try the body transfer technique again, in a smaller scale, using large sheets of watercolor paper instead of fabric for the printing. This way the fabric wouldn't "get in the way" by creasing or moving. I wanted one color, black, instead of the multicolors that were used in the "Art of Choice" project.
Doing this type of project is hugely messy, but well worth it. It required the help of my boyfriend Matt, and this body of work was done together, prior to him moving away from New York.
This piece is by far my favorite from the series. I framed it and gifted it to Matt for our first Christmas. It now hangs in our home in California.
Personally I think the use of black is so much cleaner, and more beautiful. It lets the mind treat these images like "Rorshach" ink blots, and lets the viewer see what they want in the image. Even now I am considering removing the titles from the images for this blog. As my titles will taint your first look at the image, and will do the work, telling you what I see in the piece instead of you doing the work on your own.

While writing this almost 6 years later, I look this collection of work and try to figure out which parts of the body made these printed images. I can't, except for an obvious few. You can see the complete series under the New York section in the gallery.
